The 2015 BMW X1 was presented at this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This is the last update of this small crossover before the release of its second generation. It is believed to be available on the market until the end of this year.

Design of 2015 BMW X1

The 2015 BMW X1 will be constructed on the UKL platform, the same as the one used for Mini Cooper and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. Also, this upcoming model will be slightly longer than its predecessor. As far as the exterior style, there will be very few refreshments in comparison to the previous model. The overall look of the vehicle will be more modern and aerodynamic. Its headlights will be equipped with daytime running LED lamps, whereas 17-inch alloy wheels will be set as standard. What’s more, a new colour (Sparkling Brown metallic) will be added into the usual shade palette. Furthermore, the cabin will be upgraded, even more comfortable and supplied with plenty of technology and safety features. They will include ConnectedDrive infotainment system, navigation, ECO PRO Analyser and many others.

Price of 2015 BMW X1

The 2015 BMW X1 will be a big competitor to the Honda CR-V, the Mitsubishi Outlander and the Chevrolet Captiva, which are in the same SUV segment. As for the price of this brand-new German, we don’t dispose of any certified information. Anyhow, we assume that the cost will remain pretty much the same as the price of the previous model.

Engine range for 2015 BMW X1

Speaking of the engine choices, the 2015 BMW X1 will have the same power units under the hood as its forerunner. The first engine option will be a 1.5L 3-cylinder that will be capable to develop 136 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The second power unit will be a 2.0L TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder with the ability to produce from 184 to 231 horsepower. And there will also be a diesel variant – a 2.0L TwinPower Turbo4-cylinder whose performances are rated somewhere between 150 and 184 horsepower. All the powertrains will be driven on front wheels, but the all-wheel drive will be optional,too.
